Port of Brunswick
As the Western-most port on the Eastern seaboard, the Port of Brunswick is the U.S. South Atlantic gateway to all major Southeast, Midwest, and Gulf Coast commerce centers.
Owned and operated by the Georgia Ports Authority, the Colonel’s Island RoRo Terminal located in the Port of Brunswick, offers the unrivaled advantages of a non-industrialized, environmentally clean port with ultra-modern docking facilities and excellent inter-modal infrastructure.

Port Services
Interstate Access
Colonel’s Island Terminal is within 2.5 miles (4 km) of I-95 (North/South) via U.S. Hwy. 17, and is one hour from both I-16 (East/West) and I-10 (East/West). The Hwy. 17 overpass allows for the seamless transport of autos between the North and South sides of the terminal. Mayor’s Point Terminal is 5 miles (8 km) from I-95. East River Terminal/Lanier Docks is 6 miles (9.7 km) from I-95.
Security
Through federal mandate, all port users must carry a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) in addition to a GPA credential. The terminal has a monitored fencing system outlining the entire perimeter of the facility, and video surveillance to oversee on-terminal port activity.
Rail Services
Colonel’s Island Terminal is served by two Class I railroads, CSX Transportation (CSXT) and Norfolk Southern Railroad (NS) via the Golden Isles Terminal Railroad (GITM), which provides all rail switching services on the island. For purposes of rail billing/pricing, please specify Anguilla Junction when routing CSXT and Myd Harris, when routing via NS.
Visitation Requirements
International Auto Processing’s facility is located at the Port of Brunswick and complies with the Transportation Security Administration’s TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) program. All persons seeking entry to Georgia Ports Authority locations, including the Port of Brunswick, must possess a TWIC and a current GPA credential, or be properly escorted.
Important
Visitors, please note the following:
- Visitors needing access to any GPA terminal shall arrange for an authorized escort in advance pursuant to the GPA visitor/escort policy.
- As a general rule, visitors without a TWIC will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle on GPA terminals. Special circumstances will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Authorized visitors will be issued a distinctive pass that must be displayed at all times while on the terminal.
- The visitor must possess a valid form of photo identification.
- All visitors are subject to random screening.
- Visitors are required to surrender their visitor pass to Port Police upon departure.
- Visitors needing an escort shall not go to any GPA access gate(s) to meet, await or look for their escort. All visitors must report to the designated visitor’s parking located within close proximity to the main gate.
- A visitor who requires restricted area access more than five times a year will be required to obtain a TWIC and a GPA credential.
